Overview

``text Add Watermark to Image overlays a text or logo watermark on your photos in the browser. Choose a font or upload a transparent logo, set the opacity, scale, rotation, and position, or tile it across the whole image, then export as JPG, PNG, or WebP — with nothing uploaded. ``

```text Sharing photos online means they can be copied and reused without credit. A watermark — your name, a copyright line, or your logo — marks the image as yours and discourages casual reuse. This tool lets you add one in seconds, with full control over how it looks and where it sits.
Everything runs in your browser, so your images are never uploaded and the export carries no tool branding — just your own watermark. Add text or a logo, style it, position it (or tile it across the whole photo), and download a clean result. ```
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this watermark tool free and private?
Yes. It's completely free with no account, and all processing happens in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas, so your images are never uploaded to a server. Nothing is stored once you close the tab — important when you're watermarking work you haven't published yet. The export carries your watermark only; the tool adds no branding of its own.
Does adding a watermark reduce my image quality?
No. The editor exports your watermarked image at its original, native resolution, regardless of your screen size, so the photo stays as sharp as the source. For absolutely lossless output, download as PNG. If you're publishing to the web and want a smaller file afterwards, run the result through the Image Compressor.
Can I use my own logo as the watermark?
Yes. Click "Add Logo Watermark" and upload your logo — a transparent PNG or an SVG works best, so it blends over the photo without a solid box around it. Once it's placed, you can resize it, rotate it, lower its opacity, and position it anywhere, just like a text watermark. You can even combine a logo and text.
How do I create a repeating, tiled watermark?
Select your text or logo layer and turn on "Tiled Pattern Mode" in the properties panel. It clones the watermark diagonally across the entire image. Tiling gives the strongest protection because the mark covers the whole photo, making it far harder to crop or edit out than a single corner watermark.
Can a watermark be removed?
A watermark is a strong deterrent, but it's honest to say no visible watermark is completely removal-proof — a determined person with editing skills can sometimes crop or clone parts out. You make that much harder by using Tiled Pattern Mode, spreading the mark across the subject (not just a corner), and lowering opacity so it overlaps important detail. For casual reuse, even a simple watermark is very effective.
Can I adjust how see-through the watermark is?
Yes. The Opacity slider lets you make the watermark anywhere from fully solid to lightly transparent. A semi-transparent watermark (often around 30–60%) marks ownership while still letting the photo show through clearly. Lower opacity also makes the mark blend over the image so it's less obtrusive but still visible.
Can I add more than one watermark?
Yes. Every text and logo watermark is its own layer in the Layers panel, and you can add as many as you need — for example, a logo in one corner and a copyright line along the bottom. Each layer has independent font, colour, opacity, scale, rotation, and position settings.
What styling options are there for text watermarks?
Quite a few: 17 font families, bold, a solid colour or a two-colour gradient fill, a drop shadow, and full control over opacity, scale, and rotation. A 9-point alignment grid snaps the text to any corner, edge, or the centre, and you can also drag it freely on the canvas for precise placement.
What formats can I export to?
You can export your watermarked image as JPG, PNG, or WebP. Choose JPG for small, widely compatible photos, PNG for lossless quality or if the image has transparency, and WebP for the smallest web-friendly file. Pick the format from the toolbar before downloading.
Can I resize the image here too?
This tool applies the watermark at your image's original dimensions; it doesn't change the pixel size. If you want to scale the photo down first, use the Image Resizer to set the width and height, then bring the resized image here to watermark it. That order keeps the watermark proportioned correctly.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The editor is responsive, with bottom navigation for the Layers and Edit panels, so you can add and adjust watermarks with touch on Android or iOS. Nothing is installed — it runs in the phone's browser — which is handy for marking photos before you post them from your phone.
Can I watermark many photos at once?
This editor is designed for watermarking one image at a time with precise, per-layer control. For a single photo or a few, it's quick. If you need to apply the same watermark to a large batch, do them one after another here, or look for a dedicated batch workflow — but the trade-off is you'd lose the fine positioning control this tool gives each image.
