Add Text to Image

Press Add text, type your words, then pick a font, size and colour. The Style and Effects tabs add presets, stroke and shadow. Drag the text into place, and press Add text again for another layer.

No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device, so your photo is never uploaded anywhere. Nothing is stored once you close the tab. That keeps personal or work images private, and it means the editor responds instantly because there's no waiting for files to travel to and from a server.

Yes. Press Add text once for each piece of text. Each new layer starts below the last one, so none hides another, and the Layers list shows them all, top layer first. Every layer keeps its own font, size, colour, stroke and shadow, and drags on its own. A bold headline over a small caption is two layers.

Eight faces come with the page: Inter, Anton, Bebas Neue, Oswald, Playfair Display, Lobster, Pacifico and Roboto Mono. Three more use your device's own sans, serif and monospace fonts. The eight are served from this site, not from a font service, so picking one tells nobody else what you are making. Each layer can use a different face.

Give the letters an edge. On the Effects tab, a black stroke of 4 to 8 px keeps white text readable on almost any photo, and a blurred shadow lifts it off a busy background. The Style tab has eight presets that set these for you: Meme is a thick outline, Neon a cyan glow, Subtitle a thin outline with a soft shadow. Fill colour and opacity are there too.

Drag it, with a mouse or a finger. For exact placement, click the picture and use the arrow keys: one pixel per press, ten with Shift. Rotation is on the Layout tab. The zoom buttons change only your view of the picture, and Fit shows all of it again.

Yes. The Size slider runs from 8 to 400 px, in the photo's own pixels. A new layer starts at about one fourteenth of the photo's width, so it suits both a small screenshot and a 12-megapixel photo. The picture changes as the slider moves.

Any picture your browser can open. JPG, PNG and WebP work everywhere; GIF, BMP and AVIF work in most browsers. Export saves PNG, JPG or WebP, chosen in the menu beside Export. JPG and WebP add a Quality slider, and lower quality makes a smaller file.

No. Each layer has one solid fill colour, with stroke, shadow, opacity and rotation on top. There is no gradient fill and no text on a curve. Captions, headlines, quotes and labels rarely need either. Curved or gradient lettering needs a full graphics editor.

Yes. On a phone the controls stack under the picture, and a bar at the bottom of the screen holds the next step: Add text until there is text, then Export. Press on the text to drag it; press anywhere else on the picture and the page scrolls as usual. Nothing is installed.

Yes. The text is drawn at the photo's own pixel size, so a 4000 x 3000 photo exports at 4000 x 3000. One limit: some phone browsers cannot export a picture over about 16.7 million pixels, so a larger one is saved scaled down to fit, and the page says so. For a different size afterwards, use the Image Resizer; for a smaller file, the Image Compressor.

No. There's nothing to download or install and no account to create. The whole tool runs in any modern web browser, on any device, so you don't need a desktop image editor. Just open the page, upload a photo, add your text, and export.

Yes. Once the tool has finished, a Send to button sits beside Download. Pick another tool and it opens with the result already loaded: no second download, no re-upload.
