What is Workspace?
Workspace is the local file layer behind Randomly.online tools. It remembers recent files, selected files, generated outputs, favorites, projects, and preferences so compatible tools can work together like one browser-based productivity app.
How files are stored
When a workspace-enabled tool saves a file, the file is stored inside your browser storage for Randomly.online. The website can reuse that local file in compatible tools, but the file is not uploaded to Randomly.online servers.
What IndexedDB is
IndexedDB is a browser storage system built for larger local data such as files, records, and app state. Randomly Workspace uses IndexedDB because it can store file blobs, metadata, preferences, projects, and generated results inside the browser.
What happens when browser data is cleared
If you clear site data, IndexedDB, browser cache, or storage for Randomly.online, your local workspace files and history may be removed. This is intentional: your browser controls the storage and you can clear it any time.
Storage limits
Storage capacity depends on the browser, device, available disk space, and browser rules. The workspace UI calculates current usage and available browser quota automatically with navigator.storage.estimate(), so it does not promise a fixed storage number that may be wrong for a device.
Privacy model
Your workspace files stay on the device where you added them. They are available only in that browser profile unless you manually download, share, export, or upload them somewhere else outside Randomly.online.
Security model
Randomly Workspace follows a local-first model. Tools operate inside the browser, and workspace data is scoped to Randomly.online in the browser. Keep your browser, device, and operating system secure because local files are protected by your device and browser environment.
Future cloud sync plans
Randomly.online may later offer optional cloud sync for users who want the same workspace across devices. The planned direction is opt-in only, with privacy-focused controls. The current workspace model is local browser storage.
Workspace summary
Your files stay on your device, are stored locally in your browser, are never uploaded to our servers by the workspace, and can be cleared by you any time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Randomly.online see my workspace files?
No. Workspace files are stored locally in your browser. Randomly.online tools can process files inside the browser, but the workspace does not upload files to our servers.
Can I use the same workspace on another device?
Not with the current local-only model. Workspace data is stored in the browser profile on the current device. Future sync may be offered as an optional feature.
How do I delete all workspace files?
Use the Delete All Workspace Files control in the workspace sidebar. The app asks for confirmation before clearing local workspace data.
Will files remain after closing the tab?
Yes, if the browser keeps the IndexedDB data. Files can remain after closing the tab or browser, unless the browser clears site data or the user clears workspace data.
Does private browsing keep workspace files?
Private or incognito browsing may remove local storage when the private session ends. Behavior depends on the browser.
